Project Title: Social cognitive factors associated with prescription opioid therapy in people with chronic non-cancer pain

 

Study Design

Participation in this survey is voluntary and consists of a short online questionnaire using validated measures, approximately 20-30 minutes to complete. 4-6 month recruiting period.

 

Participation

Individuals who are 1) aged 18 and over, 2) live in Australia 3) who have a self-reported current diagnosis of chronic pain or 4) are currently using prescription opioid medication.

Upon completion participants will go in the draw to win one of two $100 gift cards.

 

Outcome

It is expected that the findings will be used to identify possible modifiable factors that could be targeted as part of new psychological treatments.

 

Risks

Low to negligible risks involved in this study. Participants might experience some distress as they reflect on their beliefs and experiences, but any distress is expected to be mild and temporary.

 

Confidentiality

Survey answers will be collected within REDCap where data will be stored in a password protected electronic format.
