Campaigns

Migraine Australia runs campaigns to raise awareness of migraine and advocate for better services and support for people living with migraine.

MIGRAINE AWARENESS MONTH 2022 & 2023

Migraine Awareness Month is our main awareness activity held in June of each year. Our theme for MAM2022 and MAM2023 is Out of the Dark. This theme is a continuation of our political campaign. With over 5 million Australians living with migraine, we feel that it is time for migraine to come out of the dark and be treated by the government, health care professionals, researchers and the broader community with the respect and importance it deserves. WE THINK IT'S TIME MIGRAINE CAME OUT OF THE DARK

Migraine Australia didn't exist at the last election. And while we're not a partisan organisation and getting involved in who you vote for is not really our thing, this one time we think it's really important. We can and must get migraine on to the political agenda and Out of the Dark. Read more here https://www.migraine.org.au/outofthedark

YOUR MIGRAINE, YOUR WAY

Migraine Awareness Month is our main awareness activity held in June of each year. Our theme for MAM2021 is Your Migraine, Your Way. We'll be focusing on empowering patients to take control of their migraine journey. As part of this, we'll be interviewing all kinds of inspiring people who are Thriving With Migraine. Nominate someone who inspires you!

151 FACES OF MIGRAINE

Launched in Migraine Awareness Month in June 2020, Migraine Australia collated stories of people living with migraine all across the country. Read the stories here.

Some of these stories are heartbreaking, and many of our people live with significant depression and anxiety. A selection of the stories was also compiled into an e-book so we could send it to politicians and other influencers to give them an idea of the complexity and difficulty of living with migraine. You can see the e-book here.
