Migraine Awareness Month 2024 - Stronger Together

It's Migraine Awareness Month!

Migraine Awareness Month is held in June each year. This year’s theme is ‘Stronger Together’.

We’ve got lots on the calendar for Migraine Awareness Month and can’t wait for you to get involved.

We’ll be sharing information about how you can take control of your migraines and the latest in treatment.

We’ll also be launching 'Burple Day' on June 7th and participating in the annual Shades for Migraine on Monday 21 June.

Make sure you join the email list and follow us on social media so you don’t miss a thing!

Burple Day

Migraine Australia is launching a new national awareness day for migraine, Burple Day, to be held on the first Friday in June.  This year we are asking everyone to wear burgundy or purple to show support for awareness of migraine on Friday 7th June. Find out more

Community Quilt

This year, in keeping with the theme of ‘Stronger Together’, our members have identified that they would like to make a community quilt as part of Migraine Awareness Month, with those interested each making a square that represents what migraine feels like to them. Find out more and donate to this project.

If you would like to make your own square to contribute to the quilt, please click here to go to the expression of interest form. There is a maximum of 150 squares that can be made for the quilt, so get in quick!

Shades for Migraine

Shades for Migraine is an international awareness day coordinated by the Association of Migraine Disorders. On June 21, we're asking everyone to put on a pair of sunglasses, take a selfie, and share it to social media with the hashtag #shadesformigraine to show you care.

Light Up Australia

Migraine Australia are asking landmarks around Australia to light up in purple or burgundy, in support of Australians living with migraine. Here is a list of Landmarks that will be lit up in June for Migraine Awareness Month and the dates they will be lit up.
