Migraine Australia’s 2026–27 Pre-Budget Submission outlines scalable reforms to improve equitable access to migraine care, reduce avoidable disability, and strengthen workforce participation.

Migraine is a common neurological condition that can be profoundly disabling - yet it remains under-recognised, under-measured, and unevenly treated across Australia’s health system.
In our 2026–27 Pre-Budget Submission, Migraine Australia outlines practical, scalable reforms to improve equitable access to effective migraine care. We focus on long-term structural improvements that support health outcomes, reduce avoidable disability, and strengthen workforce participation - without advocating for specific products or programs.
Our submission prioritises:
- Better national migraine data and surveillance to inform policy and investment
- More equitable access pathways (including clearer escalation and navigation of evidence-based care)
- A review of system design and access settings to improve efficiency and value
- Building workforce and community capability to support earlier intervention and better outcomes
